Acer announce various new devices at Acer Next event

 

Acer Leap Wear smart fitness watch

Acer Leap Wear is a new smart fitness watch that will be available in North America in July with prices starting at $139; in EMEA in Q3 with prices starting at €139; and in Taiwan in August with prices starting at NT$4,990. Acer Leap Wear comes with a 1.6″ display and has IPX73 rated water resistance (survive unexpected torrential downpour). The display is protected by Gorilla Glass SR+. The body is made of polished stainless steel circular fame. MediaTek MT2523 chipset powers the Acer Leap WEar and we do hope that it does not heat up like those MediaTek chips in smartphones. There is a MT2511 bio-sensing chip that powers sensors that can monitor heart rate, stamina, stress/fatigue levels, and exposure to ultraviolet rays. The battery can keep the phone powered on for up to five days.

Acer Swift 1 and Acer Swift 3

Acer Swift lineup of affordable laptops are meant for those who need a productivity oriented laptop for office and classroom use. Swift 1 and Swift 3 are two new models in this lineup that come with Windows 10 OS preloaded. The Swift 3 series will be available in North America in June with prices starting at $599; in EMEA in June with prices starting at €649; and in China in April starting at ¥3,999. The Swift 1 series will be available in North America in June with prices starting at $329; in EMEA in June with prices starting at €399; and in China in April starting at ¥3,499.

Acer Swift 3 is just 0.71 inch thick and only weighs 1.8kgs (3.9 pounds). The body is made of brushed aluminum metal and offers 7th generation Intel Core chips, Inte HD or NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics, up to 10 hour battery life, up to 512GB SSD or up to 1TB HDD, up to 8GB of RAM. The Swift 3 will be available in 14″ or 15.6″ display sizes. Other specs include USB Type-C port built in, 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi, spacious Precision Touchpad, HD webcam, optional Corning Gorilla Glass protection for display.

Acer Swift 1 on the other hand weighs just 1.3kgs (2.87 pounds) and is powered by Intel Pentium or Celeron chips. The display is 13.3″ in size and has FullHD resolution. Other specs include up to 256GB SSD/eMMC storage, 4GB or RAM, up to 10 hour battery life, 0.7 inch thickness.

Acer Switch 5 and Acer Switch 3 2-in-1 notebooks

Acer Switch series is one of the best 2-in-1 notebook lineup that come with Microsoft Surface Pro like form factor and with support for Active Pen. Acer Switch 5 and Acer Switch 3 will be the new models for 2017. Both the Acer Switch 5 and Acer Switch 3 come with an attachable keyboard that snaps on with ultra-secure magnets and can be adjusted to an ergonomic angle for customer preference. The Acer Switch 5 will be available in North America in June starting at $799; in EMEA in June starting at €1,099; and in China in July starting at ¥7,499. The Acer Switch 3 will be available in North America in June starting at $399; in EMEA in June starting at €499; and in China in July starting at ¥4,999.

Acer Switch 5 is based on Switch Alpha 12 design and has a fanless chassis, thanks to Acer LiquidLoop cooling. Still, buyers can choose up to Intel Core i7 chips, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 512GB of SSD storage. Switch 5 weighs just 920 grams when undocked from keyboard, 1.27kg when connected to the keyboard dock. With Acer’s patented auto-retracting kickstand, the Switch 5’s viewing angle can be easily adjusted one-handedly, providing added convenience in any scenario. The display is 12″ in size and has FullHD touch display. Buyers can connect the Switch 5 to a 4K resolution external display. The Switch 5 provides up to 10.5 hours battery life and the keyboard is backlit which is a definite advantage. The Precision Touchpad in the keyboard dock support Windows 10 gestures.

Both models can access additional files through the MicroSDXC slot. The devices both feature a thin and reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port for fast data transfers of up to 5Gbps from connected peripherals, to share video and also to power other devices. Both lines also have an additional USB 3.1 Type-A port and Bluetooth 4.0.

For commercial customers, the Acer Switch 5 can be purchased with the Acer USB Type-C Dock that transforms the device into a powerful workstation. This compact dock enables high-speed video, audio and data transfer and keeps the work area clutter-free with immediate connectivity to an additional display and other devices. It includes the ports and connections commercial customers need: DisplayPort, HDMI, two USB 3.1 Type-C ports and three USB Type-A ports, as well as audio input for microphone and audio output for speakers.

Acer Aspire U27 and Z24 All-in-One desktops

The Acer Aspire U27 will be available in North America in July starting at $1,099; and in EMEA in May starting at €1,299. The Acer Aspire Z24 will be available in North America in July starting at $899; in EMEA in June starting at €749; and in China in June starting at ¥4,999. Both are powered by 7th generation Intel Core chips and run Windows 10 OS. A smart leather cable management holder keeps the workspace neat and clutter-free, while a screen that tilts from -5 to 25 degrees allows for easy adjusting of viewing angles for maximum comfort when browsing, watching movies, and taking video calls.

Acer ProDesigner PE320QK 4K LED display and H7850/V7850 4K projectors

 

Acer ProDesigner™ PE320QK Monitor is designed for content creators, has 4K resolution with support for 130% sRGB and 95% of DCI-P3 color gamut. There is nearly no bezel on all four sides. Acer announce new Aspire lineup of notebooks

Acer’s new Aspire series has a simple naming convention. 1 is for those who need a very basic notebook, 3 for every day computing, 5 for workhorse that is powerful  and 7 for powerhouse performance . The Acer Aspire 1 series will be available in North America in June starting at $219; and in EMEA in June starting at €249. The Acer Aspire 3 series will be available in North America in June starting at $299; in EMEA in June starting at €399; and in China in April starting at ¥2,799. The Acer Aspire 5 series will be available in North America in June starting at $449; in EMEA in June starting at €549; and in China in April starting at ¥3,999. The Acer Aspire 7 series will be available in North America in June starting at $799; in EMEA in July starting at €899; and in China in May starting at ¥5,999.

Acer Aspire 1 is powered by Intel Celeron or Pentium chips, can add upto 64GB eMMC storage, has 4GB of RAM and up to 9 hour battery life. Aspire 1 has 14″ display.
