Lenovo announces the cheapest 4G smartphone A2010

Lenovo now officially owns the title for having the cheapest 4G LTE mobile in India. While rest of the world is focused on flagship devices, Lenovo dares to walk in the opposite direction. They understand the formula to reach the masses. Lenovo A series mobiles have always been a “value for money” proposition. Lenovo now owns a whooping 30% market share of 4G LTE smarphones in India. Thanks to the Lenovo A Series mobiles.

The A2010 is powered by MediaTek MT6735m 64-bit Quad-Core 1.0GHz processor and a Mali T720 GPU. It has 1GB or RAM and 8GB of internal memory. The memory can be extended by upto 32 GB with microSD card. It has a 4.5 inch display and weights 137 grams. It has a 10mm thin profile. It supports both FDD 1800 MHz and TDD 2300 MHz 4G bands for India. It is powered by a 2000 mAh battery. On the camera department, it has 5MP at the back and 2MP on the front.

It is priced at Rs 4990 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart via the usual flash sales model. The first sale is set to happen on 3rd Sep at 3 pm and the registration for the sale is already open.

A while ago, we saw another cheap 4G mobile in India, the Phicomm Energy 653. It is priced at Rs 4999 and on the papers, it seems to have a better spec than the Lenovo A2010. But it all depends on the actual performance of these devices in real life. We have the Phicomm 653 in house for review and I will be posting the review soon.
