The start-up ecosystem is one of the most exciting fields in India, right now. Bangalore, the silicon valley of India is the Startup capital of the nation. Axis bank is one of the very few financial institutions which are committed to cultivate, incubate and help the growth of startups. Startup across the nation wish to be a part of Axis Bank Thought factory. As much the startups want to be in touch with them, Axis bank also wants to reach out to them. The Axis Start-up Social is one such initiative.

This is a series of events which will be conducted at various places and provide a platform for the startups to network and share their knowledge. The first Axis Start-up Social was conducted at Wework Galaxy, Bangalore on 15th December 2017. WeWork is a world-class co-working space and the Bangalore WeWorks Galaxy is a state-of-art infrastructure. Many of the city’s startups have their success story to be tied with WeWorks. Hundreds of Start-ups are now operating out of WeWork and it is the best place to kick-start the Axis Start-up Social.

The event was in 3 parts. The first part was a success story sharing session by Start-up gurus (Vivek Gupta (CEO, Licious) and Amit Rohatgi, Founder and CEO of Divrt. Vivek Gupta not only shared his success story, but he also gave a lot of valuable advice to the budding startup. The session was lively and informative. Amit Rohatgi shared his story and talked at length about the differences between the startup space in India and abroad. His session was engaging and the audience was engrossed in his speech. The second part was a stand-up comedy, or should I say start-up comedy by Vikram Poddar. His session was funny but it had a lot of stories in them. He has a knack to mix comedy with real corporate world experiences. The last was the networking session with some drinks and food.

It was nice to see so many young entrepreneurs tune in their ear and to listen to such stories from experienced gurus. Over 100 startup founders were present at the event and actively participated in it. After the sessions, I had a chance to interact with a few of them and they were very enthusiastic about such an initiative from Axis Bank. Books start the education, but experience completes it. The Axis Start-up Social is a great initiative to bring the startups together and share their experiences. This is a great initiative by Axis bank and I was happy to be part of it and witness the kick-off of Axis Start-up Social.
