Panasonic Toughbook CF-MX4 is a sturdy, convertible laptop

Panasonic today introduced a new convertible 2-in-1 laptop, the Panasonic CF-MX4. The CF-MX4 is created for those who travel frequently and would need a laptop or a tablet that can withstand the knocks and pressure that travelling generally brings with it.

There have been a slew of extremely interesting and high quality convertibles from different Windows OEMs recently, especially after the launch of Windows 8.1. The Panasonic CF-MX4 is the latest to join this bandwagon, which in itself may not be much. But Panasonic’s sturdy materials brings something new to the table.

“This Panasonic Toughbook’s upper chassis of the keyboard unit is made of a new magnesium alloy called UHD alloy. UHD alloy combines carbon with magnesium to create a new lightweight yet tough material. The device is designed to take the knocks and scrapes that frequent travelling can deliver and it has been tested to withstand a 76cm fall and 100-kgf of pressurized vibration.”

The Panasonic CF-MX4 comes with a 12.5 inch IPS LCD full HD display with touchscreen support, a fifth generation Intel Core i5-5300U processor and stylus support (along with a stylus). It comes with Windows 8.1 and has a wide array of ports – HDMI, LAN, VGA, two USB 3.0 ports and an SD Card reader.

The Panasonic CF-MX4 will be available for £1504 (excluding VAT) from the end of April 2015.
