Godrej EVE – Your personal security camera system [Review]

Godrej has launched a series of security cameras, Godrej EVE. There are three primary models: Godrej Mini, Cube, and PT. Let us check out the Godrej PT in this review and at the end of this article, you will be able to make a secure decision for your home. PT – Stands for Pan and Tilt and EVE stands for easy viewing everywhere. Godrej PT is a wireless camera system with advanced features, yet very simple and easy to operate.

Design

The design of Godrej PT looks very futuristic. It is made of good quality plastic. It can be mounted on the ceiling or can be placed on a flat surface. The base has an anti-slip rubber grip. The camera is fixed on the base, but it can freely rotate. It can pan from 0 to 355 degree and tilt from -10 to 90 degree. This covers a wide area and when strategically placed, it will barely have any blind spot. The camera sphere also has the slot for microSD card. The base has an ethernet port and micro USB port.

The ethernet port is to connect to a LAN cable, but if you have a WiFi connection at home, the Godrej PT works flawlessly with it. The micro USB port is to power up the camera. The base also has a speaker and mic to allow two-way voice communication. It has an LED on the front, to indicate its status.

Setup

The Godrej PT is a plug and play device. It does not need any special wiring or expert installation. Once the Godrej PT has been mounted on a base or ceiling, power it up. It can be powered up with the provided USB adapter or even power bank. Install the Godrej EVE app from iOS or Android App store. Follow the simple instructions and you will be able to connect the Godrej PT with your network in just a matter of minutes.

Godrej Eve app

The Godrej PT or any other Godrej camera can be controlled with this app. This app will be able to control the Godrej PT from anywhere in the world. Apart from live view, you can pan or tilt the view of the camera. You can start two-way voice communication, record footage and take a snap, apart from the many other configurations that can be set from the Eve app. The app is very easy to use and it has a straightforward interaction approach. It can detect motion and send an alarm notification on your mobile. This is one of the best features I loved about this camera. Up to 16 Godrej Eve cameras can be connected to the app and monitored simultaneously.

Quality

The quality of the images and videos from the Godrej PT is commendable. Godrej PT comes in two variants: 1MP, 720P HD Video Quality / 2MP, 1080P HD. I got the 2 MP 1080p HD variant. Video quality is sharp and the subjects are easily identifiable. The camera has got real-time refresh rate and there is no lag in the recorded clip. The recording is usually saved on the SD card, but it can also be saved in the mobile, on demand, using the app. Night time viewing is enhanced with the IR illumination LED in the camera. Night vision is also impressive. Audio quality is also good and the voice is clear.

Reliability

This easy to set up security camera solution. It does not need any specialized technical skills to install or operate it. But it is as good as any other expert security camera when it comes to reliability. The motion detection system works flawlessly in all light conditions. The two-way voice communication system is loud and clear. The recording is encrypted and overall, the Godrej PT with the EVE app assures peace of mind.
