HTC One X9 launched in China on Christmas eve

HTC is busy launching a new device in China on Christmas eve. Dubbed the One X9, this is HTC’s latest high end device that will go head to head with other Chinese flagships. Featuring a metallic body, this is HTC’s hero device launched at an awkward time.

Hitting the upper mid-range, the HTC One X9 features a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with a 1080p screen resolution. It features Mediatek’s Helio X10 octa core processor that should help bring the costs down. Along with it, the regular features like 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot (with support for cards up to 2 TB) and a 3000 mAh battery are also present. These are expected features, but the inclusion of Optical Image Stabilization comes as a surprise given the price of the One X9. At $370 or 2,399 Yuan, the One X9 comes with a 13 MP camera on the back sitting below a strip similar to the one found on the Nexus 6P.

Dual SIM feature was also an unsurprising inclusion, as is support for dual mode FDD and TDD 4G LTE. HTC is also bringing back its capacitive navigation buttons in the One X9. The awkward black bar is also gone now which should bring relief to a lot of people.

Unfortunately, HTC has not revealed information about the Android version on the One X9, nor are the pre-order or availability details known yet. It also remains to be seen if the HTC One X9 makes it out of China to other Asian markets, at the very least.
