Minimalist text editor iA Writer launches on Android

iA Writer has gained popularity as one of the best minimalist text editor on Apple devices. After a long time, though, the app has made it to Android. I’ve been testing the app for a few days now and now I’m allowed to reveal that it’s really nice.

You don’t get a lot of fancy formatting options – there’s support for just one font style and support for markdown, iA Writer’s best feature is its lack of features. The app is not cluttered with dozens of things to fiddle around with. The Focus Mode is great for helping you write without getting distracted.

iA Writer supports Dropbox sync so you won’t ever lose your notes. The app developers are looking at adding other cloud services like OneDrive and Google Drive as well, but for now it’s just Dropbox.
