LG Super UHD TV lineup now features Nano Cell tech

LG Super UHD TV lineup is officially into 3rd generation and now features new Nano Cell Technology to render more realistic images with wider viewing angles. The models models SJ9500, SJ8500 and SJ8000 will feature this new tech, with support for Active HDR and Dolby Vision.

“Our 2017 SUPER UHD TV lineup with LG’s proprietary Nano Cell technology is a breakthrough in display technology that advances the LCD TV viewing experience to a level unlike any other,” said Brian Kwon, president of the LG Home Entertainment Company. “Nano Cell is another example of how LG is innovating and pushing the boundaries of display technology to meet the evolving needs of our customers..”

In short, Nano Cell is new LCD display panel that employs uniform sized particles that are one nanometer in diameter. The minute size and closely knit particles will create more subtle and accurate color reproduction. This will also create wide viewing angles. The reason for this is that the Nano Cells absorb surplus light wavelength, enhancing the quality of colors displayed on screen. This light absorbing properly of Nano cell allows the display to filter distinct colors with greater precision. An example is that when two colors like green and yellow are too close, the color takes a slightly cyan hue. Nano Cell technology reduces this problem thereby allowing more pixels to be generated without loss in color accuracty.

The 2017 SUPER UHD TV lineup runs WebOS operating system which is lighter and more lag free compared to competing UIs. The Magic Remote is also improved and LG has introduced Magic Link feature with this series. By press of single button, users can access favorite series on streaming services like Netflix and Amazon (up to 4K resolution). While viewing VR videos, the magic remote can be used to move the scene in ay direction or zoom in.
