Sony Xperia XA Ultra priced at INR29990 in India

Sony Xperia XA Ultra is the new phablet from the Japanese smartphone maker struggling to sell phones across the globe. Powered by MediaTek Helio P10 chip with octa core CPU, the Sony Xperia XA Ultra has a 6″FullHD display. The phone will be available via online and offline stores across India for Rs.29,990. Sony is going to provide offers worth 2k rupees  on applications, free e-books worth 1000 rupees on Kindle store and 3 month subscriptions on Hungama Play.

The problem here is that the phone, in line with most Sony smartphones is overpriced and under-specced when compared to competition. For example, phone like Nexus 6 from Motorola costs 10k less and Xiaomi’s Mi Max costs half as much. The MediaTek Helio P10 is not as efficient as the powerful Snapdragon 8xx chips that power competing phones. Other features on the phone include 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (another downer), microSD card slot, 21.5mp rear camera and 16mp front facing camera (front and back LED flash) and 2700mAh battery.
