ASUS releases Vivobook S500 and S550 Windows 8 Ultrabooks
Vivobook is a lineup of Windows 8 running touch screen laptops form ASUS. The ASUS Vivobook S500 is a fully loaded Ultraportable and at a price of $699, we say that it is worth every penny. Powered by a 1.7GHz Core i5-3317U, the ultrabook comes with 6GB of RAM, 24GB SSD, 500GB HDD and runs Windows 8 64-bit operating system. To make full use of Windows 8’s touch capabilities, the ultrabook has a 15.6″ LED backlit HD (1366×768) capacitive touch panel that supports multitouch. S550 on the other hand comes with three processor choices, Intel® Core™ i3-3217U running at 1.8GHz or Intel® Core™ i5-3317U running at 1.7 GHz or Intel® Core™i7-3517U running at 1.9GHz.
