Microsoft releases final versions of Word, Excel and Powerpoint apps for Android tablets

Microsoft has been previewing its Office apps for Android for a while now – the Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps for Android tablets have been in preview (beta testing phase) for over a month now. Today, all the three productivity apps shed the preview tag.

Microsoft isn’t offering these Office apps for phones just yet. The company, however, is offering all these apps for free, so we can’t complain. You get in-app purchases in the form of an Office 365 subscription to access certain premium features, but you can use the app for creating, editing and printing files free after logging in with your Microsoft account. This is so that the file status is synced to your account so you can start off where you left across tablets.

The three Office apps have been out for iOS (iPhone and iPad) for a few months now, racking out 80 million downloads with an average 4+ rating. That is stellar, especially for a product from a company that the tech media seems to call dull.
