Moto G 1st and 2nd gen getting Android 5.0.2 Lollipop in India

Motorola is finally rolling out the Android 5.0.2 update to Moto G (2013) and Moto G (2014) in India. The update is also rolling out for the second gen Moto G in the US as of writing this.

Moto G Lollipop

Motorola’s maintained the UI absolutely stock, making no modifications to the UI at all. The company has been adding functionality via its apps instead which is why they were able to roll out the update pretty quickly. The update would have been rolled out a couple of weeks back itself, however the company ran into a couple of severe bugs on the Moto G (2013). Right now, all the bugs have been ironed out, so you should be good to go.

The Lollipop update is around 350 MB in size, so have the device charged and be connected to Wi-Fi before you begin downloading.

The update has shown up on two out of three devices on our side, so if you don’t have it yet, make sure you have updated all the core Motorola apps – that seems to tick something and the update was rolled out to two devices. The third wasn’t as lucky, though, but the success rate of 66% is good enough.
