AMD enters cloud gaming market with Radeon Sky graphic cards
Till now, few companies have tried to master cloud gaming but almost every one fell short while companies like OnLive tumbled down the cliff. Last year, Nvidia announced Grid cloud gaming architecture that can benefit cloud gaming providers provide better gaming service at a lower cost. AMD is getting ready to take on Nvidia Grid by announcing Radeon Sky series of graphic cards. Do note that these are not for end-users use but are meant to be used by game providers to stream video to gamers.
Each AMD Radeon Sky card can stream upto six 720p game streams at a maximum frame rate of 30 fps simultaneously. At launch, AMD has made available Sky 900, Sky 700 and Sky 500 cards. AMD is collaborating with cloud gaming service providers CiiNow, G-cluster Global and Otoy at launch.
