Motorola Moto X Play has been launched in India for a price of INR 18,499. The Lenovo-owned company revealed that the Moto X Play will be available exclusively via Flipkart, starting today.

Launched back in July, the Moto X Play is Motorola’s upper mid-range entry, giving the company a really good coverage across price spectrums. With the Moto E at the entry level, the Moto G at the lower mid-range, the Moto X Play in the upper mid-range and the Moto X Style in the higher end, Motorola seems to have figured out its product strategy finally. The Moto X Pure is a niche device that is not expected to be available in many markets.

Coming back to the Moto X Play, it’s one of the two Moto X models that Motorola has launched in July. Featuring a 5.5 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the Moto X Play comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. Motorola continues its strategy of using stock Android, much to the delight of a lot of customers. In the process, the company also saves itself the headache of maintaining a custom skin.

Moto X Play specs

Motorola has priced the Moto X Play extremely well. That being said, Snapdragon 615 is not exactly a champion performer. For most usecases, however, it should be enough. The Moto X Play is available exclusively through Flipkart.
