JellyBean is still the most used Android version\

What does it take to get Lollipop take the majority market share in Android distribution chart? Patience and time! The Android platform distribution chart is out and still, JellyBean takes majority of market share. KitKat is very close now and the next update should see KitKat take the lead. The new version, Lollipop though barely reached to 3.3%. Froyo is still hanging in there with 0.4% of market share. Rubbing salt on wound is Apple announcing that iOS8 is now on almost 80% of iPhones.

JellyBean has 42.9% of share while KitKat has 40.9% of market share. Coming to screen size and density, hdpi resolution displays grabbed more than a third of share while xhdpi came in second with just over 20.1% of market share. This is definitely a good sign. hdpi means 240dpi while xhdpi displays have 320dpi resolution. Displays between 3” and 5” are categorized as normal in size.
