Oppo F3 Plus launched with mediocre specs, for Rs 31000 ($470), in India

In a star studded event in New Delhi, Oppo mobiles launched a new model, the F3 Plus in India. Oppo is traditionally known for innovation and in the past we could rely on Oppo for being pioneers on many consumer tech products. But in the recent years, the innovation curve is flattening out and all we hear from Oppo is “Selfie Expert”. On those lines, the F3 Plus is just another “Selfie Expert” with every other dimensions of the mobile toned down, and price tag spiked up.

Oppo F3 Plus is a successor for Oppo F1s, the hugely popular “selfie expert”. Here are the key highlights of the mobile.

Oppo

F3 Plus is running on Android 6.0 and we still have no clue on when the other Oppo mobiles will be updated to Nougat. The design is non-inspiring. The specifications are mid-range. Apart from the dual front camera setup and the heavy price tag, there is nothing unique about the mobile. It is time for Oppo to get back to the drawing boards and come up with something unique and magnificient like the Oppo Find 7, R7 Plus, N1. These mobile brought in something new and unique during their times and we would like Oppo to bring similar excitement to the market. Selfies may be exciting, but enough has been done in that department. There is nothing more needed to be improved. Let us move on from Selfies and I hope we see some really exciting devices from Oppo in the future.
