Samsung Galaxy Note 7Samsung has launched its latest flagship, the Galaxy Note 7 in India. It is the successor of the Galaxy Note 5. The device has been priced at Rs. 59,900.

The device will be available on E-commerce sites from September 2 in Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx colour variants. The pre-booking starts from August 22 and will be open till August 30.

As an introductory offer, the customers who pre-book the device will be able to get the Gear VR for just Rs. 1,990. The device also comes bundled with Jio preview offer with unlimited voice and data for three months.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with the company’s skin on top. The Note 7 comes with a dual-edge 5.7 inch QHD ( 2560 × 1440 pixels) Super Amoled always-on display. The display comes with a pixel density of ~515 ppi. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 8890 processor. Samsung has decided to go with the Exynos processor for India instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor that was found in the device in some parts of the US.

The dual SIM device comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The internal storage on the device can be expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card. The device comes with a hybrid SIM slot instead of a dedicated microSD card slot.

The Galaxy Note 7 and the S pen are IP68 certified for dust and water resistance. The device comes with a finger print sensor and an iris scanner to unlock the device using eye recognition. It is the first Samsung device to come with an iris scanner.

Coming to the camera department, the Note 7 features a 12 MP primary camera with dual LED Flash, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), Smart OIS and f/1.7 aperture. On the front, the device sports a 5 MP secondary camera with f/1.7 aperture.

The device is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery, which the company claims supports fast charging on both wired and wireless chargers. Connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, NFC, MST, and USB Type-C. The device comes with sensors such as acceleromenter, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.
