Samsung Gear S3 Launched In India At Rs. 28,500

Samsung has launched its latest smartwatch in India. The Gear S3, unveiled back in November last year has been launched in India at Rs. 28,500. It is Tizen-powered smartwatch that can work with your Android or iOS device, thanks to the Samsung Gear S apps.

The Samsung Gear S3 is the third iteration of Samsung’s flagship Gear series of smartwatches. These watches run on Samsung’s own Linux-based Tizen OS. The Korean giant launched two variants of the smartwatch in India – the Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier.

Summing up the specs of the Gear S3 smartwatches, they feature a 1.3 inch display with a 360 x 360 pixel resolution. The display is of Super AMOLED type and comes with a pixel density of ~392 PPI. Coming to the processor, the Gear S3 features a 1 GHz dual core processor. It also has 768 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. Connectivity options include 4G LTE (in the frontier version), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, NFC, MST and GPS. The Gear S3 comes with accelerometer, gyro, barometer, heart rate monitor, and ambient light sensor. It also comes with a speaker and a mic.

Samsung has fixed the price of the Gear S3 at Rs. 28,500. It will be available across the country via Samsung’s retail network starting on January 18.
