Samsung mobile finally gives in to the competition!

Samsung mobile were literally the unchallenged rulers of the market. They could afford to launch mobiles at exorbitant prices and still can manage to sell them to the masses. Samsung has a very sensible top-end lineup and affordable feature phone line-ups. But their entry and mid-level smart mobiles were never value for money. Yet they ruled the market for ages, until Xiaomi entered the field. Xiaomi started the practice of selling mobile at affordable price tags and sensible specifications. They were probably the pioneering in listening to their customers and fine tuning their product line up. Brands like Sony, HTC and LG where never able to match Xiaomi’s or the other Chinese competitors’ product pricing strategy. But Asus turned this around and went on to introduce Zenfone Max M series. There were hugely successful and the Zenfone Max Pro M1, M2 won the heart of millions of customers.

Social Media Marketing gone wrong

Finally, Samsung gave in to competition and have launched the Samsung M Series with much fanfare. Samsung is very good at traditional advertisement and marketing, but they are newbies to social media marketing. They made some blunders in their baby steps to social media marketing. They roped in Film and Social media celebrities to do the marketing, but they failed badly with Disha Patani whose PR team, posted the whole conversation from Samsung as it is in her Instagram feed.

She finally went on to correct it and post a video

They also tied up with the Tech blogging fraternity and it was the first time to see the C Level employees of Samsung to be talking to users via Tech blogging channel. While the intention here was good, Samsung again couldn’t hold it and went in all out to bring Technical Guruji on stage unbox the mobile. Now he is a blogger who does not go in-depth with his reviews. He just sums it up for the viewers to say if the product is good or bad. I really doubt if he will ever say anything critical or negative about the Samsung M series, even if there is any.

Samsung has launched 2 mobiles out of the 5 mobiles they have planned to launch in India in 2019.
