Samsung mobile division made more money than whole of Google

Àpple has shown us the amount of money that successful hardware division can rake in and that making software alone doesn’t work in 21st century. `We have another proof here. As per Asymco, income that Samsung’s mobile phone business generated was far higher than income generated by all of Google’s businesses.

What is most surprising is the fact that about 2 and a half years ago, Samsung was hardly selling any smartphones and were struggling to match the might of the big players at that time. Have a look at the following graph and you will see how fast and enourmous Samsung’s growth has been in last 2 years.

In another analysis, we found that Samsung and Apple raked in 99%~ of profits in smartphone industry. A major reason for this is because Apple makes a profit of ~600$ for each smartphone sold and Samsung makes a profit of ~250$ for each smartphone sold.

Long news short, thanks to huge volumes of units sold and higher priced flagship models and majority of sales happening being midrange and high end models, Samsung has been raking in mighty amount of money and it doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.
