Microsoft launches Lumia buyback and extended warranty scheme in India

Microsoft wants you to upgrade to its Lumia line of devices. To make it lucrative enough, the company has announced a couple of offers for the Indian market. If you already own a Lumia smartphone, you can get up to 65% of the value back as a discount if you upgrade to a higher-end Lumia phone.

The details of the buyback scheme are:

• Up to 65% of existing device value if you upgrade within 3 months
• 10-50% discount if you upgrade within 6 months
• The offer is valid on all purchases made from branded retail outlets

Speaking to Economic Times, Microsoft detailed two new offers in addition to the buyback scheme. The company will be offering extended warranties, giving you double the normal 1 year warranty that every company provides. Apart from this, you can even buy phones on EMIs with zero-interest – make a downpayment of two months and pay the rest in EMIs over seven months.
