Aircel launches a host of data plans starting at Rs 9

Aircel has been steadily holding on to their ship in the rocky waters, rocked by 4G service providers and now Jio service. There is a sanity in this stability, but Aircel is all poised to take on the market, thanks to its merger with RCom. According to Aircel, 4G services in India is just offering a marginal speed difference compared to 3G services. The Indian market is unique from all angles. For consumers, owning a mobile phone and using data or voice service, is the cheapest when compared to many developing or developed nations. But for service providers, it is the most competitive market. There is no monopoly and competition is fierce. There are government bodies that are changing polices more than often and most of the times, the policies are mostly in favor of the users. With the steady increase in population and exponential increase in users migrating from feature phones to smartphones, Indian cellular market is at its peak. Money is poured into building infrastructure, acquiring licences and providing services. There is no profit yet in this business and yet we see price cuts and offers from all service providers. The bull and bear have to come a consensus and the market with stabilize soon. But until then, the ones who are benefited the most are the users.
