Stayzilla peps up its Mobile app with offline connectivity

Bangalore based Stayzilla.com is one of India’s largest aggregator of home-stays and alternate stays. As you are reading this, Stayzilla is expanding its portfolio which now includes over 55000 stay options in about 4500 towns in India. If you are not familiar with the concept of Home-stay, it is an option for travelers to stay in homes of local family in the city. If you have a home or part of a home that can be rented to travelers, you can get it verified by Stayzilla and enroll yourself as a host.

Stayzilla has home-stays in cities and towns spread across the nation and connectivity is a problem in most of these places. To address the problem, Stayzilla app now supports offline features. If you are in a place where you don’t have data connectivity, you still contact the host by sending SMS through the app. The home owner may be located in a place with limited connectivity or may not have a smartphone. So the host or the home-owner can reply to the message via SMS and confirm your booking. The system automatically recognizes if the host or the guest have active data connection and contacts them appropriately.

Says Pankaj Gupta, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Stayzilla, “Stayzilla has hosts and home-stays spanning the breadth and depth of India. This app release ensures that bookings can be realized end to end irrespective of the underlying data connectivity. We continue to work on exciting technical and product solutions to serve our mission of connecting travelers with hosts on Stayzilla.”

This feature will definitely address the data connectivity challenges, but we are still hoping to see a digital revolution in India, as promised by our Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
