OmniROM announces plan to upgrade to Lollipop, needs contributors
Jerdon, on OmniROM’s blog has announced that the team is indeed working on OmniROM version based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. When shall we see OmniROM based on Lollipop and how many devices will make the cut? All of this depends on how many contributors/maintainers work on creating the ROM(s). If you are good at creating 3rd party Android ROMs, head to this page to learn how you can get involved in development of ROMs based on Lollipop. Jerdon is hoping that in coming few days, all current maintainers will complete their share of work and progress towards nightly status. OmniROM is one of the best and clean Android ROMs that we have seen and if you are good at building ROMs, please help the community to get OmniROM
On issue that OmniROM team is facing is that Google is not interested in AOSP users and that they are breaking AOSP applications, changing few to proprietary code. So, those devices that does not make the cut may get a long-term support 4.4.4 ROM.
