Toshiba announces 13.3″ KIRAbook with 2560 x 1440 resolution display, starts at $1,599.99
Targeting at the top end market, Toshiba has announced a new lineup of ultrabooks, named KIRAbook. The first product in the lineup is a 13.3” beauty! Kirabook 13.3” comes with a PixelPure display (another fancy name in line with retina display) that has a resolution of 2560×1440 (at 217 ppi). Users have option to go for touchscreen that is protected by Corning Concore glass and 10 point multitouch interface. Under the hood, the ultrabooks comes with Core i5/i7 processors, upto 8GB of DDR3 1600Mhz of RAM, 256MB of SSD. KIRAbook will be available with a two year warranty and sale in USA will start in May with a base price of $1599.99.
“At the core of the KIRA brand are products derived from inspired engineering,” said Carl Pinto, vice president of marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. “Products that will carry the KIRA name will be more than a collection of the latest hardware technologies, but a statement of craftsmanship, fit and finish, and features built for the consumer’s benefit, not technology’s sake.”
To make the KIRAbook, strong, Toshiba has used AZ91 pressed magnesium alloy and a honeycomb-base which makes the ultrabook light yet super strong. To help better air flow, KIRAbook has Toshiba’s Airflow II technology which is a thin multi phase fan cooling system. At just 0.7” thickness, KIRAbook weights just 2.6 pounds.
