Xiaomi launches Redmi Note Prime for Rs. 8,499

Xiaomi today launched the Redmi Note Prime in India. This is the company’s second made in India handset from contract manufacturer Foxconn’s facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Xiaomi announced in August this year that it would manufacture its devices locally in India, in a show of commitment to the Make in India initiative.

The Redmi Note Prime runs Android 4.4 KitKat-based MIUI 7. The Redmi Note Prime is powered by a Snapdragon 410 SoC with quad-core 1.2GHz CPU paired with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage. The device features a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display. The device comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera. It is powered by a 3,100mAh Lithium-ion Polymer battery. It is a dual sim phone and comes with 4G LTE connectivity.
