Blackberry release Leap smartphone in India for 20000 INR

Blackberry has announced the launch of Leap smartphone in India. Leap is the successor to the popular Blackberry Z3 smartphone.  BB Leap runs Blackberry OS 10.3.1, has a 5” touchscreen display and is 4G ready. The phone will be priced just a bit above Rs.20,000/-.

“The device will be an entry phone for these professionals who can then further subscribe to BlackBerry’s other services,” said Sunil Lalvani, BlackBerry India MD. “It’s not a low-cost device and is positioned in the mid-tier segment. We expect a good uptake of this device in the Indian market.”

Leap is powered by Qualcomm MSM8960 chip with a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU and Adreno 225 GPU. The display has 720p resolution. There is 2GB of RAM onboard and 16GB of storage can be expanded using micorSD card. The battery is a 2800mAh battery that can provide up to 25 hours of life with mixed use.
