Samsung Electronics announce SDK for 7th generation Gear device
Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has announced availability of SDK ofr the next generation Gear device (7th generation). The new SDK will be used to develop applications for the 7th generation Samsung Gear wrist watch. This is the first time that Samsung has released SDK for wearable products to 3rd party devs before the product is announced.
If you are a developer and interested in developing apps for 7th gen Samsung Gear device, head to http://developer.samsung.com/wearable/sub.html to sign up as a developer. Do note that the SDK is not readily available for use. You need to sign up to be a member of Samsung Developers community and once you agree to terms and conditions, Samsung will get back to you via e-mail and once the approval and access is done, you will get to see the new SDK and start developing applications.
The apps that are submitted by devs can be eligible for promotion through Samsung’s social media channels, the devs can get invitations to Samsung Developer events and can have opportunity to join the application showcase. Best applications can get featured and promoted on Samsung Gear Apps Store.

To join the program, developers can become a member of the community by submitting an application at the Samsung Developer’s website. The applicants will be later notified through email along with the development resources. They will be among the first to get an up-close look into the SDK and build apps for the next Gear.
