Samsung 960 PRO and 960 EVO SSDs can hit 3500 MB/s read speed

Samsung 960 PRO and 960 EVO are blazing fast M.2 SSDs from the top semiconductor company. Both the 960 SSDs are V-NAND based and built on NVMe (Non Volatile Memory express) SSD tech. The 960 PRO is offered in 512GB, 1TB and 2TB sizes. Samsung 960 EVO comes in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities. The 960 PRO and 960 EVO SSDs will be available worldwide starting October 2016, with manufacturer’s suggested retail prices starting at $329.99 and $129.99 USD respectively. The 950 PRO comes with 5 year warrantywhile 960 EVO comes with 3 year warranty.

The Samsung 960 PRO and 960 EVO use PCIe Generation 3 x4 interface. The 960 PRO can hit massive peak sequential read and write transfer speeds of 3,500MB/s and 2,100MB/s respectively. These can hit random read and write IOPS of up to 440,000 and 360,000. The 960 EVO can hit 3,200 MB/s and 1,900 MB/s respective sequential peak read and write transfer speeds. The 960 EVO can reach up to 380,000 IOPS random read speed and 360,000 IOPS random write speed.
