Canon announce CS100 Station to auto copy media from camera

Taking photos using a camera is always a pleasure but it comes with the pain of transfer the photos and making sure that you do not lose them. There were many instances where myself and few of my friends lost photos because the photos are not copied in time and memory card corruption destroyed some very good photos. Canon Connect Station CS100 is the perfect solution for this problem. The CS100 is photo and video storage device that can connect to multiple ‘compatible’ imaging devices to store/view/share images and videos. CS100 provides up to 1 TB of storage and has built-in NFC and Wi-Fi. CS100 will be released in June 2015 and will cost around $299.99.

Users having compatible Canon digital camera with NFC can copy photos to CS100 by just tapping the NFC icon on the camera (camera and CS100 need to be in same network). Users can also setup automatic import of new images and videos from camera to CS100. CS100 can be connected to a HDTV using a HDMI connector to play videos and slideshow of photos on the TV. CS100 has built-in SDcard and compact flash card slots and a USB connection to import images from devices that are not compatible with auto copy over wireless.

To print images, CS100 can connect to PIXMA and SELPHY printers (compatible ones) over wireless network. Canon Image Gateway allows CS100 units in different locations to connect to each other and share images and videos. CS100 supports jpeg, raw, mp4, mov and avchd formats.
