LinkedIn acquire Lynda.com online education portal

When it comes to Video-on-Demand trainings and online education system, Lynda.com has been among the best. Their training videos are detailed, have superb course catalogue and cater to wide areas. Lynda.com also offers Android/iOS applications that can be used to watch the training videos/courses and also download them for offline learning. Today, LinkedIn Corp, the leading professional social network company has announced that they will be acquiring Lynda.com for $1.5 billion.

The acquisition is expected to close during the second quarter of 2015. 52% of the buyout price will be paid in cash and 48% as stocks.
