Amazon Local includes resturant take-out delivery service in Seattle

If you have Amazon account and living in Seattle, you can now order food for home delivery or take out using the account at ‘select’ restaurants in Seattle. Amazon Local, a service that provides local deals that offers savings on local services, products and experiences is now expanding to restaurant industry. Using Amazon account, users can order food from neighbourhood restaurants, have the food delivered to their home or order a take-away. Amazon is planning to expand the Takeout & Delivery to other parts of USA.

To place an order, users need to either login to Amazon Local website or use Amazon Local smartphone application (iPhone/Android/Amazon Fire Phone). From the takeout & delivery section, find the restaurant, build the order, select payment method and pay. User will then get an email when the order is ready for pick up or delivery.

Where is takeout & delivery available?

The service is currently available in Seattle.

Where do I go to order?

You can order on the Amazon Local website or using the Amazon Local mobile app. The app is available for iPhone (4 or newer, with iOS 6 or newer); Android (2.2 or newer); and Amazon Fire Phone. Make sure your location is set to “Seattle”.

How do I use the service to order takeout or delivery?

Go to the “Takeout & Delivery” section, find a restaurant you like, and start building your order from the restaurant’s menu. Here’s how:

  • Add as many items as you like from one restaurant
  • Select a payment method and enter a tip, if you wish
  • Look for an email telling you when your order will be ready for pickup or delivery

Is there a cost to using restaurant takeout or delivery?

There is no cost to using the service. We do, however, charge a $2.99 fee for takeout orders under $5. Delivery fees vary by restaurant, and many offer free delivery.

How do I pay?

You pay with your secure Amazon account. If you have ordered something extra in the Special Instructions section, the restaurant may collect an add-on charge.

How do I view my takeout & delivery orders?

Go to Your Orders on the app or website.

What if I need to change or cancel my order?

Contact the restaurant about changes or cancellations. The restaurant’s phone number is listed in Your Orders and in your order confirmation email. If you need additional help, call Amazon Local Customer Service at: 888-281-3853.

Who will deliver my order?

In most cases, the restaurant will deliver your order. If the restaurant does not have its own drivers, it may use a third-party service.

Refund policy

We want happy customers. If you have a bad experience, we want to make it right. If the restaurant is not responsive, please contact us.
