HP Z1 G3 is new all-in-one workstation with 4K display
HP Z1 G3 Workstation is the new premium All-in-One PC for businesses and is 47% smaller, 51% lighter and 21% less expensive than previous generation model. Powered by Intel’s Xeon processor and NVIDIA Quadro graphics, the HP Z1 G3 comes with a 23.6” 4K UltraHD display and is priced at $1498 USD. Availability will begin in the month of May in USA. There are very few All-in-Ones and almost none that provide workstation class performance and combine power with stunning display and the HP Z1 G3 is one of them.
HP has also announced new receiver software for Apple’s Mac OS X, the HP Remote Graphics Software that allows engineers to access files and apps on HP Workstation and harness the power of the Z series workstation from a Mac. This way, Mac users can multi task between native OS X apps and Windows/Linux workstation applications.
“We took our groundbreaking, and most innovative workstation – the original Z1 – and reinvented it by listening to our customers to create a new smaller, lighter and lower cost model,” said Jeff Wood, vice president and general manager, Workstations and Thin Clients, HP Inc. “The new Z1 will introduce more new customers to workstation power and reliability, while HP RGS with a Mac Receiver will open doors to more Apple customers wanting to integrate our powerful Z Workstations.”
“We are blessed to have one of the best, most well-equipped labs in the country,” says Howard Cook, assistant professor, C/T at the Digital Animation Center. “HP Z1 Workstations are speedy, robust machines. And we like the compact form factor.”
Other specs of HP Z1 G3 Workstation include Dual PCIe HP Z Turbo Drives, 2x 2.5” bays to add SSD/HDD, Thunderbolt 3 with USB 3.1, USB charging port, media card reader, DisplayPort etc.
