Now share Dropbox files from Facebook Messenger

Facebook has been trying to improve Messenger from a long time. After introducing voice calls, photo sharing, videos, maps, stickers and other features, Facebook has now added the ability to send Dropbox files on iOS and Android devices.

Facebook Dropbox

This feature was announced by Dropbox and Facebook on Monday. Allowing users to send Dropbox files directly from Messenger will allow users to save time and effort.

To begin using this feature, You need to first update Dropbox and Messenger apps. After that, when you tap the More button in Messenger for iOS or Android you will see Dropbox as an option.

The videos, images and animated GIFs that are shared will be visible in chats. For other files, tapping open will redirect them to the Dropbox mobile app.

Videos and images—including animated GIFs—will be displayed directly in your chats. For everything else, tapping Open will bring recipients to the Dropbox mobile app, where they can preview and save files. It’s a quick, simple way to share vacation snapshots, home movies, and laugh-worthy memes with any of the 900 million people using Messenger—whether they’re Facebook friends or not.

“We want people to communicate just the way they want to on Messenger, with everyone they care about,” said Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger. “Giving our users the ability to share their Dropbox videos and images in Messenger threads with just a few taps will help them bring more style and personality to those conversations.”
