Oppo R7 and R7 Plus launched with Snapdragon 615, 3 GB RAM

Almost every Android OEM is busy launching some really good devices in the mid range with very good prices, however not all of them are able to make it to the market with a good design and an OS that does not feel like a cheap rip off. Oppo is trying to break away from that with its two new devices – R7 and the R7 Plus.

Oppo R7

Oppo is aiming for the mid-range with the R7 and the R7 Plus. While the R7 comes with a 5 inch display, the R7 Plus is the bigger sibling with a big 6 inch display. Here are the specs of the Oppo R7:

  • Android 4.4 KitKat with Color OS
  • 5 inch LCD display, Full HD 1080p resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels, ~445 PPI
  • Octa core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU
  • 13 MP camera, Schneider-Kreuznach lens, f/2.2 aperture, LED flash; front facing 8 MP camera
  • 3 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage expandable with a microSD card
  • Dual SIM, LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Fast charging with VOOC technology
  • 2320 mAh battery

Oppo is using its own VOOC technology to charge up to 75% of the battery on the R7 in under 30 minutes, which is considerably faster than Qualcomm’s own Quick Charge 2.0.

Oppo R7 Plus

The R7 Plus, on the other hand, comes with almost the same specs as the R7, save for a few places like the display and the fingerprint sensor.

  • Android 5.1 Lollipop with Color OS 2.1
  • 6inch LCD display, Full HD 1080p resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels
  • Octa core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU
  • 13 MP camera, Schneider-Kreuznach lens, f/2.2 aperture, LED flash; front facing 8 MP camera
  • 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage expandable with a microSD card
  • Dual SIM, Fingerprint sensor, LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Fast charging with VOOC technology
  • 4100 mAh battery

Oppo has not released information about the price or the availability. However, the Oppo R7 will be the first to hit the market with the R7 Plus following soon thereafter. Both the phones will be available in silver and “gilded”.
