Microsoft Surface Pro 4 launched with bigger display and Windows 10

Microsoft is on fire. The company announced a bunch of exciting new devices, all unified by the single Windows 10 platform. Taking a few steps further in the direction of One Microsoft, the company announced its new hybrid laptop and a stunning new tablet.

After launching the Lumia 950 XL, Lumia 950 and the Lumia 550 to a great reception, Microsoft announced a new laptop hybrid. Succeeding the Surface Pro 3, the Surface Pro 4 comes with all the things you loved about the Surface Pro 3, and then some. The Surface Pro 4 can also double up as a laptop far better than any of the other hybrid laptops out there in the market. Utilizing some interesting new technological and design advancements, the general consensus around the new Surface tablets has been quite good.

Starting off with the Surface Pro 4, Microsoft has announced that it will come with a bigger 12.3 inch display in a thinner overall body at just 8.4 mm. Microsoft is utilizing a new PixelSense technology that allows it to push 5 million pixels at a pixel density of 267 PPI. It also comes with 1024 levels of pressure with its new Surface Pen, meaning you will now have a far more sensitive pen. This should improve the overall experience to a great extent – drawing, note taking, highlighting is all going to be a much more joyful experience due to the increased sensitivity. The new pen will just attach to the Surface Pro 4 now, instead of going in its loop.

Microsoft will be using the Intel Core 6th generation processors, right up to the Core i7. You can also opt for RAM up to 16 GB and internal storage up to 1 TB, which should please a lot of power users.

The Surface Pro 4 also supports the new and improved Type Cover. A trademark of the Surface series, the Type Cover is now thinner and lighter. It also comes with a much larger glass trackpad, and there’s now more space between the keys. This should bring it quite closer to the laptop experience. The new Type Cover supports the Surface Pro 3 as well.

The Surface Pro 4 also comes with a docking station, giving you 4 USB 3.0 ports, two 4K DisplayPorts and an ethernet port. It will be compatible with the Surface Pro 3, just like the new Type Cover. At $200, you’re getting a lot of extension support here.

Finally, the Surface Pro 4 is available for pre-orders right now at a starting price of $899, with wider availability from October 26th.
