Wire is a beautiful new messaging app, out on Android, iOS and OS X
There are dozens and dozens of messaging apps out there, catering to different needs of different demographics in their own ways. Wire is another new messaging app, but it’s one which focuses on making your conversations beautiful.
Wire is also being backed by Skype’s co-founder, Janus Friis, which would mean nothing to you as an end user, but it’s presumably what Janus would’ve wanted Skype to be like in terms of operation were it made now. Instead of boring you with my talk, I’d rather mention what you can do with Wire.
- Share media – pictures, audio, video, GIFs. Embed media from SoundCloud and YouTube
- Voice calling
- Messaging
Currently, Wire is free completely and there’s no video calling. The company aims to add this, and come out with premium features you may want to pay for, in the future.
