TP-Link enters smartphone race with three Android smartphones

TP-Link is well known in Asia for their home and office network products like wireless routers and access points. This week, TP-Link has decided to try their luck in smartphone ecosystem. Neffos C5L , Neffos C5 Max and Neffos C5 are the first set of smartphones that will be running Android OS version 5.1. All the three models are targeted towards budget smartphone buyers.

We expect its performance in global market will provide us references to develop more and better products in the future,” said Justin Tu, Vice President of TP-LINK.“The philosophy of ‘Smart& Simple’ is reflected in all our products that aim to make users’ life easier.TP-LINK will continue to build a smart lifestyle.”

Neffos C5 comes with a MTK  MT6735 with 4x Cortex-A53 1.3GHz  processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Users can expand storage using microSD card slot and there are dual LTE supported SIM card slots as well. There is an 8mp rear camera and a 5mp front facing camera. Battery is rated at 2200mAh.

Neffos C5Max has mostly similar specs as that of C5. Difference is that this one has a 5.5” FullHD IPS display, 13mp rear camera, bigger 3045 mAh battery. Neffos C5L on the other hand is powered by Snapdragon 210 chip, has a 4.5” FWVGA display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. There is an 8mp at the back and a 2mp at the front. The battery is rated at 2000mAh.

All the three phones have polycarbonate body and will be available in Black and White color options.
