Vivo X21 UD is the first production-ready smartphone that has an under display fingerprint reader. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, the Vivo X21 and X21 UD are officially released in China. Available in Red, black and white color options, the Vivo X21 UD is priced at CNY 3598 and only comes in 128GB storage option. The Vivo X21 with traditional back mounted finger print reader is priced at CNY 2898 for 64GB variant and CNY 3198 for 128GB variant. Sales will start on 24th of March in China for X21 and on 28th for X21 UD.
The design is now much closer to iPhone X design with a notch at the top and nearly no bezel on other three sides. The notch allows Vivo to place camera at the top and this gives better looking video and shots when front facing camera is used. The Vivo X21 UD and X21 are powered by Snapdragon 660 chipset that has 8-core Kryo cpu and Adreno 512 GPU. There is 6GB of RAM on both variants. Both variants come with glass and metal body and looks gorgeous. The display is 6.28″ in size and has 19:9 aspect ratio. Vivo opted for Super AMOLED panels for this phone which is necessary for under display fingerprint reader to work. The resolution is set to 1080 x2280 pixels, which is kind of a stretch for a 6.3″ display.
Coming to optics, there is dual 12mp rear camera setup and a 12mp camera at the front. Thanks to front facing IR fill light at the front, Vivo X21 UD and X21 can do iPhone X like face unlock by detecting faces. X21 UD comes with 128GB of onboard storage and X21 comes in 64GB and 128GB variants. Users can increase storage using a microSD card.
Other specs include 3200mAh of battery power, Bluetooth v5, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Dual SIM card slots, FM radio, fast battery charging, microUSB port, Android 8 Oreo based Funtouch OS 4.
