Oculus Ready PCs Will Be Available From Asus, Dell And Others For Less Than $999

Oculus yesterday announced the new Oculus Ready PC program, designed to make it easy to buy a great PC for Rift. They have identified a recommended specification for Rift to ensure a great experience and simplify development. Early next year, Asus, Dell and Alienware will start selling brand new Oculus Ready machines powered by NVIDIA, AMD and Intel. Many of these systems will start at a variety of price points under $1,000

This is the hardware that they recommend for the full Rift experience:

•     NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
•     Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
•     8GB+ RAM
• Windows 7 SP1 or newer
• 2x USB 3.0 ports
• HDMI 1.3 video output supporting a 297MHz clock via a direct output architecture
