Google rolls out brand new Play Store UI
Google has started the rollout of a refreshed user interface (UI) for its Google Play Store app. The rollout of the new Play Store app UI updates the app to version 5.10.29. New Google Play UI update that was teased yesterday has begun rolling out to select users.
The brand new UI of the official content and apps store of Android comprises two main tabs — Apps & Games; and entertainment. It seems to be a server-side switch, so updating to a new version of Google Play via .apk file may not do the trick.
The slideout navigation menu is getting a change too, with shortcuts to the new Apps & Games and Entertainment sections at the top, then other shortcuts for the rest of the Google Play sections below. The new UI displays bigger icons and more images; thereby maximizing the screen. The update has not separated game apps and non-game apps and they continue to be clubbed together.
