Lenovo Z1 launched in India for INR13,499

The Lenovo Z1 powered by ZUK is offiically launched in India, priced at Rs.13,499/-. This is a very good pricing given how good the phone. We managed to get a hands on and we were impressed with the Lenovo Z1. The grey variant looked pretty good, the CyanogenOS 12.1 offers something different and its a good move away from generic looking UI that all these Chinese brands employ (the icon driven interface without app drawer). The Z1 display has 100% NTSC color gamut and it indeed looks spectacular. The device is powered by Snapdragon 801 and comes with whopping 64GB of RAM. As expected, the sale will be via flash sales and Amazon managed to grab the exclusivity. The first flash sale will happen on 19th of May 2016.

Lenovo has cofirmed that its smartphone, Lenovo Z1 will be launched in India on May 10. Lenovo used Facebook to announce the launch of the device. Announcing the World’s first Crowd Sourced Product Launch where YOU take center stage to launch the#LenovoZ1.

This will be a first of its kind crowd sourced event where instead of the Lenovo team, Zuk fans will take the stage. The Lenovo Z1 was sold in the Chinese market as Zuk Z1. Lenovo has decided to name it as Lenovo Z1 in India. It now carries the tag ” Powered by Zuk”. The Z1 features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display (1920 x 1080 pixels). The device is powered by a 2.5GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor with integrated Adreno 330 graphics paired with 3 GB of RAM. The Z1 comes with 64 GB of internal storage. The internal storage can not be expanded.

The device runs on Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Andriod 5.1 Lollipop. The company has claimed that the device will be upgraded to Cyanogen OS 13 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow within a month after the launch. The device comes with  a 13-megapixel primary camera with Sony IMX214 sensor, optical image stabilisation and f/2.2 aperture. On the front, there is a 8-megapixel camera with OmniVision OV8865 sensor.

The device is powered by a 4,100mAh battery with fast charging capability. Connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS / GLONASS and USB Type-C 3.0 port. Lenovo has not revealed the pricing details of the Z1. The 64 GB Z1 was priced at CNY 1,799(18,400 INR) in China.
