Microsoft release classic Windows games to Windows Phone and Windows 8 stores

We all grew up playing Minesweeper, and Solitaire games on our computers, didn’t we? Such is the popularity of these games, Microsoft had to continue packaging Windows with these classics and they later added few more games like Mahjongg. For some unknown reason, Microsoft stopped bundling these classics with Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 devices and this week, Microsoft quietly launched three classic games, Mahjongg, Solitaire and Minesweeper to Windows Phone and Windows 8 stores.

“If you’ve used a Windows PC anytime in the last, oh, 20 years, you’ve probably spent some time with the Microsoft versions of the classic games solitaire, mahjong and minesweeper. Now those games have been redesigned for a new generation of players and devices. How are they different? For starters, as Xbox games, you can earn achievements, compete with your friends, submit your scores to leaderboards, and track your personal gameplay stats. Even better, you can also play, pause, and resume your games across Windows phones, PCs, and tablets.”, said Michael Stroh, on Windows Phone blog.
