Gionee Marathon M5 Plus and Marathon M5 Enjoy launched

While other manufacturers are busy launching thinner phones every day, Gionee has just launched two new smartphones with giant batteries. The Gionee Marathon M5 Plus and the Marathon M5 Enjoy are the latest devices from Gionee that come with 5,000 mAh batteries each.

The Marathon M5 Plus is the higher end device among the two. It comes with a 6 inch full HD Super AMOLED display, a Mediatek MT6753 chipset with an octa-core processor, 3 GB RAM, Android 5.1 Lollipop with the company’s custom Amigo UI on top. The back houses a 13 MP camera and an LED flash, while the front comes with a 5 MP camera. The inbuilt storage is plenty at 64 GB with the ability to expand it by another 128 GB with a microSD card.

The Marathon M5 Plus comes with a 5,020 mAh battery and costs CNY 2,499 or ~$385.

The Gionee Marathon M5 Enjoy comes with a smaller 5.5 inch TFT LCD display with a 720p resolution. There is a quad core Mediatek MT6735 processor inside and 3 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage with microSD card support, 8 MP camera and LED flash on the back with a 5 MP camera on the front. The M5 Enjoy also comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI on top.

A 5,000 mAh battery powers the Marathon M5 Enjoy. It costs CNY 1,999 or ~$310.
