Samsung launches Galaxy S7 Active

Samsung Galaxy S7 ActiveSamsung has unveiled the tougher version of its S7, dubbed as Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. The device will be available in stores and online from AT&T fron June 10th.

This is similar to the S6 Active that was unveiled last year. The Galaxy S7 Active comes with improvements in battery life, a shatter resistant display and  a Military Grade Body.

The S7 Active runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI skinned on top. The device features a shatter resistant 5.1 inch Super AMOLED QHD( 1440 x 2560 pixels) display with a pixel density of ~576 ppi.

The Galaxy S7 Active is powered by a 2.15 GHz Qualcomm  Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. The device comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card.

The Galaxy S7 Active sports a 12 MP primary camera with OIS, phase detection autofocus, f/1.7 aperture and LED flash. It comes with a 5 MP front camera with f/1.7 aperture. The primary camera comes with Dual Pixel technology.

The Galaxy S7 Active comes with a bigger 4,000 mAh battery compared to the Galaxy S7’s 3000 mAh battery. It will provide up to 32 hours of talk time. The battery comes with Quick Charge 2.0 that can charge 60% of battery in 30 minutes. Connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, microUSB v2.0 and GPS.

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy S7 Active will be available from June 10th at $26.50 a month for 30 months or $33.13 a month for 24 months. It will be available in Camo Green, Titanium Gray and Sandy Gold color options.
