Huawei MateBook revealed, to compete with Microsoft Surface

Huawei has finally entered the 2-in-1 market. Huawei Matebook is the new 2-in-1 computer from the Chinese electronics and networking giant. Announced at Mobile World Congress 2016, MateBook comes with Windows 10 Operating system and has a 12″ display with 2160×1440 quadHD resolution. MateBook is powered by Intel Core M processors and come with up to 512GB SSD storage options. The basic model with Core M3 chip, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD will cost $699. The MateBook will be available in Asia, Europe and North America in the coming months and will be available in two elegant colors: grey and golden.

According to Huawei, the MateBook is the lightest 12″ tablet on the market, thanks to its 1.4 pounds weight and is also super thin, at 6.9mm. The 33.4Wh battery on the other hand will last up to 10 hours. The keypad comes with a glass trackpad, supporting wide array of gestures and smooth scrolling. In line with Microsoft Surface, the MateBook comes with a MatePen stylus that offers 2,048 levels of sensitivity. Huawei has managed to add a finger print reader to the tablet and a USB Type-C port to connect peripherals. There are dual front facing speakers for immersive audio experience.
