ColorOS 5.2 : How to enable installation of app from apk and unknown sources

The default setting in Android does not allow you to install applications outside the Google Play Store. If you want to install applications by downloading the ‘apk’ file from internet, this guide will help you enable installation from other other sources. Open Settings application, go to [Additional Settings] > [Device & Privacy], click on [Apps Installed from Unknown Sources].

You will now see various sources from which you can download and install apps. We strongly recommend you to only keep ‘files’ option on. Download the apk to local storage, use antivirus/spyware detector to scan the file and then use. Still, this is a dangerous way of installing apps and we do not recommend this. Switch the slider to green for files.
