Elliptic labs touchless gesture kit for Windows 8, a new way to interact with Windows
Take a look at the following video. What you here is result of using Windows 8 Gesture Suite designed by Elliptic Labs. Thanks to “Elliptic Ultrasound Starter Kit for Laptops”, users can use gestures to navigate around Windows 8 without the need to touch the display or input devices. We do not yet have the full detail on how exactly this works and what is provided in the kit but it does indeed look cool, especially for those who hate reaching for display to perform a gesture. By using ultrasound technology, these gestures takes 95% less power when compared to camera based gestures. Below is the list of suported gestures:
- Selecting a tile
- activate charms menu
- cycle through running apps
- open application’s menu
- Scrolling (horizontal and vertical)
- Close an application
