Garmin nuviCam LMTHD is a navigation device with built in dash cam

Garmin’s new nüviCam LMTHD is a new portable navigation device that features a built-in dash cam and advanced alerts to improve driver awareness while on the road. Given how dangerous the roads have become these days, a dash cam is an essential accessory for travelers as one can record videos while they are driving the vehicle and then in case of accident, have proof that shows the accident in detail. nüviCam LMTHD also comes with forward collision warning, lane departure warning and has built-in Garmin Real Vision technology. Garmin is planning to release nüviCam LMTHD in May 2015 with a suggested retail price of $399.99.

nüviCam has a 6” capacitive touch display and the dash cam can record video in HD resolution. The recordings are saved to microSD card. In case of an incident, the Incident Detection will automatically save the files on impact. Built-in GPS will also record the location detail. Drivers can interact with nüviCam using their voice, built-in Bluetooth will allow hands free calling via Bluetooth enabled phone. Using “Smartphone Link” applications, users with compatible iOS/Android smartphone can enabled real-time data services (weather radar for example). The Garmin BC30 wireless backup camera can be connected to nüviCam for rear visibility.

“The nüviCam LMTHD goes beyond helping drivers get from Point A to Point B,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales. “The intuitive driver-assist features not only lessen the stress of getting you to your destination, but the nüviCam also provides peace of mind in knowing that your commute is being recorded and can be referenced should you need it.”

The nüviCam comes preloaded with detailed maps of North America and free lifetime map updates are included to ensure the most up-to-date maps, points of interest and navigation information is available. This navigator also features HD Digital Traffic, the best and fastest traffic solution available from Garmin, for the useful life of the device.
