Who should buy Poco F1 and who should not?
Poco F1 is all that everyone is talking since yesterday’s reveal. Priced at around INR 20k for base variant, Poco F1 has thrown everyone off-guard and now the whole of mobile industry is forced to go back to their war rooms to come up with a new strategy. But for many, ‘fast is enough’ and for many ‘looks mean nothing’. In this post, we explain who should buy Poco F1 and who should stay away from it. If you want to know our first impressions of this phone, head to this post.
Buy the Poco F1 if you want
- Poco F1 is meant to be fast, super fast. If you are looking for a phone that is among the fastest out there, you should get the Poco F1. Fast does not just mean switching apps faster. Thanks to Snapdragon 845 and MIUI OS, every thing is super fast. Also, the base variant comes with 6GB of RAM and that is adequate to keep lot of apps in memory without a need to reload them when you switch between applications.
- Paying just 20,000 rupees for a phone that can play any Android game out there is a steal deal. If the liquid cooling mechanism works as expected, the phone should stay cooler than others with similar specs as liquid cooling works better. The only concern is that unlike liquid cooling in computers where heated liquid/vapor is cooled down by high performance fans, there is nothing as such in this phone.
- MIUI runs well on a phone that is powered by low end chipsets. Imagine how it would run on a phone powered by Snapdragon 845. If you are a big fan of MIUI, there is no other phone that would run MIUI as well as this one does.
- If you are looking for a phone that offers high value for money score, this is the best one right now. This one is the cheapest Snapdragon 845 chipset powered phone and is 10k cheaper than the ASUS Zenfone 5Z. The phone also has 4000mAh battery, big display, lot of RAM etc.
- FM Radio, dual front facing stereo speakers, 6.13″ display, headphone jack. This is a godsend for multimedia consumers who do not want to spend more than 20k for a phone.
Do not buy Poco F1 if you want
- Dashing looks. This phone looks boring, mainly due to that plastic back and dull front look. If you are ready to pay more and want a feature-rich phone that also looks really good, there are a lot of options.
- Notch-free display. That notch is huge. Whatever face unlock tech exists at the top, it still is a notch. Of course, you can disable notch, but, the notch is still visible. If you hate that notch, Poco F1 is not for you.
- Top class service. I mean… really over the top class service. Service is one of the top priorities for many. Xiaomi’s service is better than brands like Vivo, Oppo or Lenovo, they are still way behind tier 1 brands like Apple or Samsung.
- …to buy it immediately… Poco F1 is going to be available via flash sales. At this point, we are not sure about the stocks and availability of this mobile. This may mean you have to try to buy the phone at an appointed time every week to try your luck.
